Vol State is excited to announce its first federally registered United States Department of Labor Apprenticeship for manufacturing. Several years ago, Vol State operated an apprenticeship program in hospitality. The registered apprenticeship with Hutchinson focuses on advanced manufacturing and is connected to the college’s mechatronics program. The apprenticeship launch was made possible thanks to the MIDAS grant in partnership with the Tennessee Board of Regents.

Volunteer State Offers Free Google Professional Certification

Learn in-demand skills that will have you job-ready in less than six months

Gallatin, TN - Volunteer State Community College’s Division of Workforce Development has partnered with Google to provide online training to become a Google Data Analytics Professional at no cost to the student. Students will not need a degree or previous experience to participate.

Vol State Brings Virtual Teaching Skills to European OSHA Clients

Virtual learning has expanded in many ways during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, staff members at Volunteer State Community College are taking virtual teaching techniques and applying them to a new audience, one that is well outside the usual focus of Middle Tennessee. Vol State is home to an OTIEC (OSHA Training Institute Education Center). OSHA health and safety training organized by Vol State reaches companies and employees across the southeast United States. A program is taking that education global as part of a U.S. Army Europe training initiative.
