Resources
Free Microsoft 365 Access
Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) are available to all students currently enrolled and taking classes at Volunteer State Community College. Your license is valid as long as you are actively enrolled in classes. You can access Microsoft 365 online, and you can also install Microsoft apps on your devices.
Glean
Glean is located in the student My Vol State portal and is a note-taking tool that can capture class lectures and integrate student notes into lectures.
Read&Write Software
Read&Write can help you with reading, writing, and studying. You can install Read&Write software on your device to access a toolbar of reading & writing resources.
Computer Lab Access
Volunteer State Community College is equipped with the latest in computer technology. Here is a list of student computer labs and hours that are available for your use on Vol State campus locations. These labs are configured with internet access, computer hardware, software applications, and printing.
Printing
Each semester you are enrolled in classes, you will be granted $17.50 in print credits. Printers are available in many of the student computer labs. Here is additional information about student printing costs and locations.
Wireless Internet Access on Campus
Vol State provides on-campus wireless access for currently enrolled students. Bring your device to campus with you and connect to the Vol State Wi-Fi.
Technology Equipment Checkout
Do you need access to some type of technology to complete your class assignments? Check out our Student Technology Checkout program. You can request to borrow items like a laptop, a webcam or a headset.

The IT Help Desk can help you access Vol State Technology resources, provide account/login/password support, and provide limited support for personal devices.
