As we usher in a new year, many of us reflect on the changes we want to make in our lives. Whether it's learning a new skill, advancing our careers, or achieving educational milestones, setting ambitious New Year's resolutions is a common tradition. Fortunately, the Adult Education Department is here to turn those resolutions into reality.
One of the key offerings of the Adult Education Department is the seamless pathway it provides for individuals looking to make positive changes in their lives. If English proficiency is a goal for you, we have free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes conveniently located in Gallatin, Hendersonville, Springfield, and Lafayette. Once you've gained confidence in your English skills, the journey doesn't end there.
Our commitment to your success extends to providing free High School Equivalency (HSE) classes across Sumner, Robertson, Trousdale, Macon, Smith, and Clay Counties. This program opens doors to further educational opportunities, setting the stage for personal and professional growth.
As you approach the culmination of the HSE program, our dedicated teachers and career coaches step in to guide you through the next steps. We assist you in applying to Vol State, navigating the intricacies of the FAFSA (financial aid application), exploring technical schools, pursuing apprenticeships, crafting an impressive resume, and finally, applying for jobs. We believe in empowering our students with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in their chosen paths.
Remarkably, our efforts have borne fruit, with 34 students currently enrolled in Vol State, diligently working towards their Associate's Degree or earning certifications in diverse fields. These success stories underscore the transformative impact of Adult Education in not just setting goals but also in achieving them. This new year, let Adult Education be your partner in progress. Together, we can turn your resolutions into tangible achievements, opening doors to a brighter and more promising future.
