Costs
Costs associated with attending the Putnam County Middle College (PCMC) include the same components as any student attending Volunteer State Community College. For more information about estimated costs and cost categories, see Vol State’s Net Price Calculator. Tuition rates for PCMC students follow the Dual Enrollment Students fee schedule.
The following is intended as a general overview on financial aid and out-of-pocket categories. More specific information will be provided each year at information sessions conducted at the Putnam County high schools and at the Open House sessions at Vol State’s Cookeville campus. Questions can also be submitted to us at pcmc@volstate.edu.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to eligible PCMC students to offset the costs of attending the PCMC.
TSAC Middle College Scholarship

TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant
The TSAC Dual Enrollment Grant will be used by the PCMC to cover the accelerated pre-Fall semester course that first-time PCMC juniors will take in the beginning of August of their junior year of high school. PCMC staff will assist accepted PCMC students with the TSAC DEG application after they have been admitted to the PCMC. For award amounts, extent of coverage, and information on initial and continued eligibility, visit the TSAC DEG page.
Other Funding Sources
Vol State and Putnam County Schools are continuously collaborating to develop and provide additional types of financial assistance to PCMC students. Information about this will be provided at the information sessions and open house.
