Vol State Foundation Raises $39,000 with Virtual Event

Grace Tomkins participated in the virtual Complete the Dream Vol State event at her home in Gallatin.

The Volunteer State College Foundation raised more than $39,000 with a virtual Complete the Dream event earlier this fall. Sumner Regional Medical Center was the title sponsor for the virtual event that featured magician and author, Jason Michaels. Attendees, who were at their homes, were able to purchase a “Dream Box” which included food and drink for six people, catered by Myers Front Porch, and two bottles of wine, donated by Bluegrass Beverages.

The program also included a panel discussion with Vol State alumni, Foundation donors and a current student. A highlight was the student testimony of Vol State alumnus Nick Crumble. He attended the college as a John Wallace Health Science Scholarship recipient. Crumble shared with viewers the impact scholarships had on his life. He is now a Physical Therapy Assistant, a career he never knew existed until attending Vol State.

Since its inception in 2007, Complete the Dream events have raised more than $520,000 for Vol State scholarships and special projects. The Volunteer State College Foundation is a 501©3 organization. For more information contact Alison Webster alison.webster@volstate.edu or 615 230-3506.
