Tiffany Summers has been hired as the director of Financial Aid at Volunteer State Community College. She had been senior director of Financial Aid at Lipscomb University in Nashville for nine years.
“For me, financial aid is about helping students find the resources to achieve their goals, “ Summers said. “I would not have been able to go to school without financial aid. I’m a first generation college student.”
Volunteer State Community College is holding a free Zoom Internet video session to help current and future students fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). It will be held on Tuesday, February 16 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. To register email: financial.aid@volstate.edu. The deadlines for FAFSA forms to be turned-in have been extended this year. The deadline is now March 1 for TN Promise students and May 15 for TN Reconnect students.
Donna Dunaway has been hired as the director of Financial Aid at Volunteer State Community College. She had been assistant director of Financial Aid at Motlow State Community College in Smyrna for nearly nine years.
“I wanted to have the opportunity to have an impact on an institution as director and hopefully, help the college continue to move forward,” Dunaway said. “It’s a great opportunity.”
