Vol State Sports Report For May

The softball and baseball teams have completed their regular season. This month, they will be participating in their post-season tournaments.

The softball team will travel to their Region 7 Tournament, hosted this year at Columbia State Community College. The tournament runs May 5-9. Their first game is Sunday, May 5 at 3:00 p.m.

There is an exciting atmosphere for fans and players alike as the basketball teams are showcasing their skills in tournaments and the softball and baseball teams are gearing up for their games. The dedication and teamwork displayed by these athletes highlight the competitive spirit that drives them towards success in their respective sports.

Vol State Hosts TCCAA Softball and Baseball Tournaments

Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin is hosting the TCCAA Softball and Baseball Tournaments this week.

All of the action will be streamed live: https://www.jockjive.com/tccaa.html

You can attend the games in-person. Fans are asked to social distance and wear a mask in bleachers. You can also bring a chair or sit on the lawn to watch.

Vol State Holds Event for Nichols Softball Complex Naming

Volunteer State Community College held an event recently to officially recognize the naming of the Dr. Warren and Chris Nichols Softball Complex in Gallatin. Warren Nichols was the second president of Vol State, serving from 2003 until 2011. Among Nichols accomplishments as president, he was instrumental in working to get the facility upgraded, including a new press box, bathrooms, and other facilities. The Nichols’ are dedicated Vol State softball fans. The ceremony has been in the works for some time.

Softball Players Association Donates to Vol State

The Softball Players Association donated $1,500 to the Volunteer State College Foundation for the Judy Lee Schreiber Scholarship.  Proceeds are raised by their annual tournament.
