Online Academic Support for Students

We have plenty of online support for students taking online classes. We offer everything from help navigating the online course system to tutoring in math and English. Here’s a list of resources for students. They are free and available to all students:

Tips for success using the Vol State online course system, eLearn

Online Learning Coaches

Are you having a hard time navigating eLearn? Trouble uploading an assignment? The coaches can help. They can also help you get organized for your online learning and provide tips for how you can do well in your classes. They don’t offer tutoring for the class subject matter. But they can help with many other things. It's free and open to all. Students can book an appointment for a virtual meeting.

Free Microsoft Apps

All Vol State students have free access to Microsoft apps like Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. It’s through Microsoft 365. You may find classes that require using those specific programs or ones like them. Normally people have to pay to get the Microsoft Office Suite. So, take advantage of it! We have info on how to get set up: https://bit.ly/31dWjNZ

Online Tutoring and Help with Papers

Get academic support online this semester, including tutoring in math and English and help with papers and speeches. The sources include the Vol State Learning Commons and Tutor.com. We have a list of our free services in what we call the College Success Zone.

Join Our Virtual Campus on Facebook

Online learning doesn’t mean you have to feel isolated. Join our virtual campus on our main Facebook page. You can also join a special student group discussion page that we have as part of that Facebook page. Students can ask questions of each other, get tips, and sell textbooks. Just like the main Vol State Facebook page and then double click on the Groups tab to the left on that screen.

Other Social Media Connections

We also have info and tips available on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
