The forum provides an opportunity for members of the campus community and the public to learn more about the search process and express their views on the qualities and characteristics they would like to see in the next president. Dr. Jerry Faulkner has announced his retirement, effective Aug. 31 after more than nine years as the third president in Volunteer State’s 50-year history. The Tennessee Board of Regents expects to appoint his successor by Aug. 1, effective Sept. 1, to ensure a smooth transition.

The Search Advisory Committee – whose 18 members were announced March 31 – will review applicants and nominees for the next president and recommend up to three finalists, who will be introduced to the community in campus interviews and public forums. Afterward, TBR Chancellor Flora W. Tydings will review input from the campus community and the public and submit a single recommendation to the Board of Regents. The executive search firm Greenwood/Asher & Associates is assisting in the search.

The Tennessee Board of Regents invites applications and nominations for the position. Full details – including criteria for the next president, how to apply and submit nominations, and information about the college – are available on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/hr/executivesearches/president-volunteer-state-community-college and the Volunteer State Community College website at https://www.volstate.edu/presidential-search.
