Educate a Woman Raises More than $37,000

Sumner Regional Medical Center – Highpoint Health System was the Summa Cum Laude sponsor.

The 2019 Educate a Woman luncheon raised more than $37,000 to support scholarships for women at Volunteer State Community College. Best-selling author and syndicated columnist, Ronda Rich, was the featured presenter for the sold-out event. Four hundred people attended. A highlight of the luncheon was an emotional video testimonial from student Anedra Moore, who has overcome many challenges to attend college and received scholarship support that is helping make her dream come true.

“This is a great event and our speaker, Ronda Rich was fantastic, but even more important was our student testimony that painted the picture of the purpose of this event.  Our sponsors and attendees continue to make dreams come true for young women who are obtaining an education at Volunteer State Community College.”

The Volunteer State College Foundation organizes the event. From the inception in 2008, Educate a Woman has raised more than $300,000. The Summa Cum Laude sponsor for Educate a Woman 2019 was Sumner Regional Medical Center – Highpoint Health System. The Magna Cum Laude sponsors were First Tennessee Bank and Dollar General.
