Author Ronda Rich at 2019 Educate a Woman Luncheon

Best-selling author and syndicated columnist, Ronda Rich, is the featured presenter at the 2019 Educate a Woman luncheon on April 26. The event supports scholarships for women at Volunteer State Community College. Rich began her career as a sportswriter covering NASCAR and came to national attention with the book What Southern Women Know (That Every Woman Should). The popularity of the book launched her as a storyteller, spinning tales of the South as seen through the eyes of its people. She has appeared on dozens of television shows including The View, Fox and Friends, The Other Half, Fox Sports, CNN as well as in the pages of People, USA Today, Redbook, Cosmopolitan, New York Times, Washington Post, Southern Living, and Woman's Own.

Educate a Woman booked up one month in advance last year. An RSVP is required and there is a suggested minimum donation of $50 requested at the event. Thus far Educate a Woman has raised 257, 263 for scholarships. It will be held at the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville at 106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd. Registration starts at 11 a.m. and the lunch and program at 11:30 a.m. The Summa Cum Laude sponsor for Educate a Woman 2019 is Sumner Regional Medical Center – Highpoint Health System.
