Courses Aligned with TDOE CTE Programs of Study

Vol State has many university parallel and vocational career-designated courses that align with the objectives and learning outcomes stated in many of the Tennessee Department of Education’s (TDOE) Career and Technical Education (CTE) Clusters and Programs of Study.

Process

  • Click on the CTE clusters below to see which TDOE programs of study have Vol State aligned courses along with information about associated credentials.
  • Contact the Dual Enrollment Office to:
    • Request sample syllabuses if additional course information is needed
    • Inquire about course modality (e.g. face-to-face or online) and campus (Vol State or high school) to meet your needs
    • Discuss faculty credentialing requirements if you have a faculty member who may be qualified to teach the Vol State course (otherwise a current Vol State faculty member would teach the course)
    • Discuss course type (university parallel vs. vocational/career), purpose, and transferability
    • Discuss required facilities and equipment for courses to be taught in person at the high school
    • Develop a timeline for incorporating the course into your high school’s master scheduling process
