Vol State Adult Education proudly celebrated its first-ever Winter Graduation on December 12, 2024, marking a significant milestone for students and their families. The event brought together 75 graduates and their loved ones to honor the hard work and dedication required to achieve high school equivalency diplomas.

Nicholas Bishop, Vice President for Economic Development and Strategies, served as the evening’s emcee, guiding the ceremony with warmth and enthusiasm. Representative William Slater of the Tennessee House of Representatives delivered an inspiring keynote address, highlighting the importance of perseverance and education in achieving personal and professional success.

To earn their diplomas, graduates demonstrated proficiency in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies, passing rigorous assessments to meet the program’s standards. During the ceremony, students received their certificates, symbolizing their commitment to lifelong learning and personal growth.

In addition to the diploma presentations, four students were recognized with special awards for achieving perfect or nearly perfect scores in Science and Social Studies. These outstanding individuals exemplify the excellence and determination that the program fosters.

The event was a heartfelt celebration of achievement, resilience, and new beginnings. Vol State Adult Education looks forward to continuing to support students on their educational journeys and to hosting many more successful graduations in the future.
