Dana Sloan completed her radiologic technology program at Volunteer State Community College in 2022 and is now working on an Associate of Applied Science degree in nuclear medicine technology at Chattanooga State Community College’s Nuclear Medicine Technology program. With this background, she became one of the three recipients of the Weber State University School of Radiologic Sciences Student Global Engagement Scholarship and will be heading to Sydney, Australia with her classmates this March.
Dana shared her excitement about the upcoming trip and said, “I am looking forward to experiencing how nuclear medicine and molecular imaging are performed and gaining a comparative understanding of the Australian health care system. My classmates and I will have the opportunity to collaborate with their nuclear medicine and radiologic technology students while experiencing the Australian culture."
The Weber State University, School of Radiologic Sciences, located in Utah, created the Student Global Engagement Scholarship to help provide students studying abroad a unique academic and life experiences, thus enhancing the value of the student's education, building cultural competency, and laying the foundation to become responsible world citizens. This scholarship is given through the ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technology) Foundation and students must be a member of ASRT to apply.
