The Tennessee Board of Regents confirmed Dr. Orinthia T. Montague as the next president of Volunteer State Community College during a special called board meeting Tuesday. Dr. Montague was recommended to the Board by Chancellor Flora Tydings and a committee, after a nationwide search.

The Tennessee Board of Regents will hold a special called meeting July 27 to consider the appointment of the next president of Volunteer State Community College. After a search of more than three months, TBR Chancellor Flora W. Tydings is recommending to the Board the appointment of Dr. Orinthia T. Montague as the next president of Vol State.
A Tennessee Board of Regents Search Advisory Committee has selected three finalists for the next president of Volunteer State Community College. They will participate in campus visits – including forums with the public and campus groups – June 22, 23 and 24, the next step in the selection process.
The finalists are:
Jerry Faulkner, president of Volunteer State Community College, has announced that he will be retiring this summer. Faulkner will have served as president for more than nine years, guiding the college through a period of growth and challenge. “It has been a great privilege and honor to have served in the Vol State college community,” Faulkner said. “My time here has been the most rewarding of my life.”
