CIT Department Presents Free Cybersecurity Webinar October 21

The Volunteer State Community College Computer Information Technology Department is presenting a Cybersecurity Awareness Month Webinar on Wednesday, October 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Titled “If You Connect It, Protect It,” the webinar will include the topics: Securing Devices at Home and Work; The Future of Connected Devices; and Volunteer State Community College Internet of Things (IOT)/Connected devices. Presenters will include experts from the FBI and the State of Tennessee.

Cybersecurity Seminar October 29

The Virginia cybersecurity company Risk Based Security reports that there were 3,800 publicly reported security breaches in the first half of 2019, a 54 percent increase over last year. Cybersecurity is a top priority for businesses and a fast-growing profession for students to consider. On October 29, the Computer Information Technology (CIT) program at Volunteer State Community College will host a Cybersecurity Seminar.
