Sonja Burton is an adult student who started school in the fall of 1981 and is finally graduating this semester with a degree in Business Administration. Sonja dropped out of college to pursue other things when she was 18, but now she’s graduating with her degree at age 59.

Earn Your Vol State Degree Tuition-Free

TN Reconnect is a state program that provides tuition-free community college classes for adult students in Tennessee. You can earn a degree in more than 100 areas of study. The main requirement is that you not already have a college degree. But you can use college classes that you completed previously or start for the first time with TN Reconnect. We have had hundreds of Reconnect graduates each year and they say the same thing: it's a great opportunity to pursue a new career path or bolster your career skills without going into debt.

Tuition-Free College at Vol State with TN Reconnect

Adult students often have to scrimp and save to afford college tuition. Now, with the tuition-free TN Reconnect program, a college education is much more obtainable.

“I was paying for classes with my tip money from work,” said Caitlin Springer of Goodlettsville. “Once Reconnect came through, I was ready and able to take more classes. It’s been great.”

Adults Apply Now for Tuition-Free College at Vol State

Hundreds of adult students are attending college tuition-free this year with TN Reconnect. Adults who don’t already have a college degree can join them for the upcoming semesters at Volunteer State Community College. People are encouraged to apply now.

Four Family Members all Using TN Reconnect

Tuition-free community college, with TN Reconnect, is inspiring thousands of adults across the state to attend college this fall. Volunteer State Community College has nearly 1000 new eligible applicants thus far. But it isn’t just individuals signing-up. Couples, and even whole families, are taking the opportunity to earn a college degree. Jim and Kim Bare of Hickman are attending Vol State this fall with their daughter Jessica and son-in-law Michael.
