Policy
This policy, in accordance with Senate Bill No.1 057 Section 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-1903, and Section 49-1906 define the American History requirement.
All degree-seeking students in a university parallel program at Volunteer State Community College whose high school transcript indicates less than 1 year of credit in American history and government shall be advised to enroll in the appropriate history sequence during the first term of enrollment in collegiate level courses. Placement in courses below the college level in reading or writing may prohibit the student from enrolling in a history sequence during the "first year in college."
