Purpose
This policy establishes the protocols and processes for creating collaboration between TBR institutions regarding off-campus offerings in order to maximize student access and success in quality academic programs and identifies the campus units responsible for compliance with TBR Policy 2.01.01.02 (formerly A-020).
Definitions
- A Dual Enrollment Site is a high school campus or other local education agency-owned facility used to offer dual enrollment section(s) of a college course.
- An Off-Campus Instructional Site is a location physically apart from the institution’s main campus at which instruction is delivered. It involves a significant continuing commitment of institutional resources and fulfills standards established for sites by the SACSCOC.
Responsibility
The Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs is the designated VSCC contact for off-campus credit offerings and has primary responsibility for the identification of off-campus sites and centers and the related approval processes and forms. The Academic Divisions have primary responsibility for the recommended schedule of credit classes at each location. All provisions of TBR Policy 2.01.01.00 and TBR Guideline A-010 apply to credit offerings at dual enrollment and other off-campus instructional sites.
The Vice President for Economic Development and Regional Centers has primary responsibility for agreements with universities to offer upper division and graduate coursework at VSCC facilities.
General Procedures
The Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs is involved in and responsible for negotiations with other TBR institutions for the VSCC credit program/course delivery to off-campus locations.
The Vice President for Economic Development and Regional Centers is involved in and responsible for negotiations with other TBR institutions for non-credit program/course delivery to off-campus locations.
In all cases, the institution complies with the criteria and processes established in TBR Policy 2.01.01.02.
Students and employees at dual enrollment and other off-campus instructional sites are responsible for following all VSCC college policies and procedures.
