Vol State Athletic Coaches at this year's Golf Classic
The Vol State Athletic Association Golf Classic, benefiting the Vol State College Foundation took place on August 7 and netted over $18,500.
The tournament was held at Tennessee Grasslands at Foxland where teams competed for the Vol State Bank Corporate Cup Challenge. The Golf Classic is held annually and raises money for the Volunteer State Community College Athletic Association. Prizes were awarded for par 3, long drive, and closest to the pin.
Karen Mitchell, vice president for Resource Development and Executive Director of the Foundation stated, "We are pleased with this year’s golf tournament results! TN Grasslands at Foxland was a new location for us, and it was great! Their golf course was beautiful and we were able to use their new event center for our dinner. Everything was fantastic! We are so thankful for our sponsors each year, Volunteer State Bank, Brandon Webster, Sumner Regional Medical Center, Mark and Stefanie Carter, and many others. I couldn’t do this without them!”
