Vol State Hosted Annual High School Math Contest

The Vol State Math and Science division hosted the 65th annual Statewide High School Mathematics Contest on Tuesday, April 4th.

More than 250 students from seven area high schools competed in six divisions: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Statistics, Pre-calculus, and Calculus and Advanced Topics. The first-place winners in Statistics, Pre-calculus, and Calculus and Advanced Topics Divisions received a $125 check. Winners in the Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II Divisions received a $100 check.

The statewide contest is conducted by the Tennessee Mathematics Teachers’ Association and its purpose is to stimulate interest in mathematics and honor students who are outstanding in their knowledge of mathematics.
