Vol State’s International Education Committee invites students, faculty, staff, and interested community members to a Native American Workshop

Date: Wednesday, April 2, 2025
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Location: Vol State’s Cookeville campus, Cody Hall, 1000 Neal Street

Four Native American guest speakers will present on topics such as history, rituals, health issues, medicines, social structure, families, food, music, and community engagement among indigenous people. A light lunch will be provided at no cost to attendees at noon, followed by a question-and-answer session with the speakers. The presenters also plan to bring some authentic Native American snacks for sampling.

Participants will benefit from this rich cultural experience and greater awareness of and appreciation for Native American culture. Extra-curricular activities such as this help prepare our students for success in today's global economy and encourage a growth mindset.
