The search for the next president of Vol State has advanced to three finalists. They are visiting the Gallatin campus this week for a series of interviews and forums.
Dr. Jothany Blackwood, vice president for academic success at San Antonio College in San Antonio, Texas visited Tuesday. She grew up in Nashville and went on to professional positions in California and Texas. She mentioned Guided Pathways, academic success initiatives, and educational equity as some of the most important elements of her current work and discussed growing those areas at Vol State.
Staff and faculty forums were held this morning. Students and the community can participate in the afternoon forum, either in person at Caudill Hall or via Zoom. The time will be the same for each candidate and held from 3pm to 4pm each day.
Dr. Orinthia T. Montague, president of Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, New York will visit on Wednesday. Dr. Irene Rios, chief executive officer of Suffolk County Community College’s Ammerman Campus in Suffolk County, New York will visit Thursday.
