Student Clubs/Organizations provide ample opportunity for students to participate in campus governance and leadership opportunities to promote their educational, personal, and social development.
Students who participate in clubs/organizations will
- Develop on-the-job-skills such as fiscal management/budgeting, record keeping, and event planning.
- Identify skills on how to collaborate with others and work in a team atmosphere.
- Recognize professionalism through personal accountability such as time management, attitude, and work ethic.

Student Government Association
Student Government Association (SGA) was established to be an avenue through which student interests and needs may be expressed. It provides students the opportunity to work with college administration officers in matters affecting the welfare of the student body.

Social Clubs
The Art Vols club meets at the Cookeville campus to spread the passion for art. The club plans to host painting sessions and art exhibits for the members to display their artwork. The club will look at art in film/documentary and look to study art in fun ways to inspire creativity.

The Campus Activity Board (CAB) is a SGA Committee composed of a group of students who create, promote, and implement student activity events on campus. Join the Committee!

The mission is to provide a community for like-minded students at Vol State and competitive Esports opportunities.
InterVarsity is a campus ministry that establishes and advances witnessing communities of students and faculty. The Vol State Chapter seeks to witness to students and faculty while growing in love for God and God’s Word.
The National Society of Leadership & Success (NSLS) is a leadership society that allows students to create and implement academic and life goals. Students join by invitation only with the requirement of a minimum GPA of 2.5. The chapter is active online only to accommodate busy lifestyles.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an international honor society for two-year colleges. The organization offers opportunities for community service and personal development. An invitation only organization, PTK requires students must have earned 12 collegiate credit hours, have a GPA of3.5, and be working towards a certificate or degree.

The Philosophy Club hopes to foster an open space for inquiry and discussion for students of Vol State who have a common interest in philosophy.

The Vol State Cookeville Rotaract Club has a personal commitment to empower young adults and young professionals to take action through community and international service, develop leadership skills through professional development, and gain a global perspective that fosters world peace and cultural understanding as partners in service.

The Settler, the campus newspaper, is published and distributed throughout the academic year. The Settler is run exclusively by and for students. Many staff positions are filled by students enrolled in COM 292P. The Editor-in-Chief is selected by the advisor and the Coordinator of Student Activities.

The purpose of the club is to bring students together and build community around board/tabletop games.

The Theater Club will provide a creative platform for student interested in theater arts, fostering their passion for drama, acting, directing, and all aspects of theater production. The club aims to promote collaboration artistic expression, and a deeper understanding of the performing arts within the Upper Cumberland communities.

Academic Affiliated Clubs
The Dental Assistants serve as a public relations group for the Dental Assistants in the Middle Tennessee area. The club participates in social activities and educational seminars with the First District Dental Assistants Association.

The Future Educators Club is a group of students who are interested in education, specifically becoming educators in the future. Through this club, we hope to make changes in children’s lives and encourage other future educators to get more involved in their local schools and communities.

The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America(NAVTA) chapter exposes students to more educational opportunities as well as the humane medical care and treatment of animals.

The Volunteer State Student Nurses Association (VSSNA) exists to provide programs of fundamental interests and concerns to nursing students, aids in the development of the whole person, and contributes to the nursing education to provide for the highest quality of health care. Students must been rolled in the Nursing program to be a member.

The Cybersecurity Club is made up of VSCC students interested in furthering their knowledge in the technical realm of programming, networking, and security. Club members have access to a cyber-lab learning environment which consists of a server rack equipped with enterprise level components.
Activities include preparation for the *National Cyber League (NCL) fall gaming season, tutorial workshops, field trips; hackathon prep and participation; and other types of events. All VSCC and CIT students are invited to become members of this fast-growing club.
The club competes in several competitions (on Campus and Outside Campus) at least once a year and is a good demonstration of our club's knowledge and ability to defend a network. Every CIT student is welcome especially those interested in Cybersecurity, Computer Database, Network Technology, and Programming.

How to Start a New Club
The following information MUST be completed to be considered an active club/organization on campus:
- At least one member must attend a club/organization training session with the Coordinator of Student Activities.
- The club/organization must participate in the recruitment event each fall and spring semester by providing club members and club materials to promote the club and motivate students to join.
- The club/organization must submit a Club Action Plan that includes a completed Advisor Agreement and provides at least 10 currently enrolled students to act as club members.
