Vol State Announces Presidential Academic Scholarship Recipients
Seven area students have been awarded Presidential Academic Scholarships at Volunteer State Community College. They are: Brittany May of Westmoreland, Amanda Adcox of Joelton, Lindsay Farmer of Westmoreland, Ginny Huntsberry of Gallatin, Hollie Meadows of Portland, Amber Perry of Bethpage, and Jeb Stuart of Hilham.
All students that applied for private scholarships at Vol State were screened and narrowed down to the top five. The criteria was a 26 or better ACT score, and a 3.5 high school GPA. The scholarship provides $3,500 for the year. The students will work 75 hours with Vol State offices on campus each semester.
