Top golfers honored in First State Bank Corporate Cup Golf Challenge
Matt Ricker and Paul Warren of Volunteer State Bank took home the top honors in the second annual First State Bank Corporate Cup Challenge Golf Tournament last week.
They beat last year’s winners, Buddy Shaw and Chuck McPherson, by one stroke. The competitive tournament was a two-man, best ball competition between business-sponsored teams of two players each. The championship team received a 22-inch, gold and silver traveling cup as well as a permanent trophy. For the second year First State Bank was the Title Sponsor for the Corporate Cup Challenge, which was held at Fairvue Plantation.
All proceeds from the First State Bank Corporate Cup Challenge benefit student scholarships at Volunteer State Community College. Event sponsors included First State Bank; Gap, Inc.; Regions Bank, Tyson Foods, Inc.; Rowlett Advertising; and Volunteer State Bank.
