Tennessee Promise is Ready for You at Vol State

TN Promise LogoTennessee Promise is a scholarship and a mentoring program which provides the opportunity for Tennessee high school, home school, and GED graduates to attend a community college free of tuition and fees. Students will be required to complete eight hours of community service prior to each semester they enroll in order to maintain their eligibility, as well as maintaining satisfactory academic progress (2.0 GPA) while enrolled. While removing the financial burden is key, a critical component of Tennessee Promise is the individual guidance that each student will receive from their assigned mentor.

Eligibility

Tennessee residents who graduate from an eligible TN high school or home school, or prior to turning 19 years of age, obtain a GED or HiSET diploma. Those students must enroll and attend full time the fall following their high school graduation.

Requirements

  1. Maintain full time enrollment (12 credit hours or more per semester)
  2. Maintain satisfactory academic progress (2.0 GPA)
  3. Complete and submit eight hours of community service to TNAchieves prior to the start of each semester of enrollment
  4. Complete the FAFSA each year by January 16th
