Health Care Act Workshop for Small Businesses at Vol State

Businesses have plenty of questions about what they will have to do to comply with the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Parts of the act will be implemented in 2014. Analysts say there still may be misperceptions about what the act will mean for small businesses. The Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at Volunteer State Community College, along with Heritage Financial Group, will host a free workshop to answer those questions. “Health Care Reform, Preparing Your Business for the 2014 Mandate” will be held on August 22 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop will be held in dining room in the Wood Campus Center on the main campus. Representatives with Heritage Financial Group will address topics that include: marketplace/insurance exchanges; play or pay; limits on waiting periods; community rating for groups; plan design limitations; fully Insured vs. self-funded; individual mandate; additional health care reform fees; and Department of Labor Compliance.
