Vol State Bluegrass, Jazz, Rock and Originals at Spring Concert

Student songwriters and bluegrass musicians will take center stage at the Volunteer State Community College Music Department Spring Showcase. The annual show will feature original student works in a variety of styles. The Vol State student group Bluegrass Ablaze will perform songs from their new CD. It will be on sale, as well as another CD called "Writers on the Storm", which features original student songs. The Commercial Jazz Ensemble and the Commercial Rock Ensemble will also perform.

The Spring Showcase Concerts will be held on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wemyss Auditorium at Caudill Hall on the Vol State campus, 1480 Nashville Pike in Gallatin. There is a suggested donation of $5 for admission, $10 for admission and a copy of either CD, or $15 for admission and both CDs. The funds will be used for music scholarships.
