The Social media world can seem like a maze if you haven't tried to use it yet for business marketing. Volunteer State Community College Continuing Education has a non-credit bootcamp course that can help you learn the basics in one day. The eight-hour bootcamp will include hands-on training for social media and marketing tools for business. Participants will learn the purpose and function of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogging, how to include webinars and podcasts, and new sites like Pinterest and Instagram. This will include the best ways to engage readers, how to develop a listening strategy, tools for measurement, how to capture business or find employees, and additional tools and resources around each platform. The bootcamp session will enable attendees to take back tangible working information to apply to their social media campaign.

The one-day course runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be conducted twice this spring: April 26 and May 17. There is a $135 fee for the class. Visit and click on "course registration" to register.
