Students compete in Science Olympiad at Vol State

Volunteer State Community College hosted dozens of science students, from schools across the area Saturday, as they competed in the regional Science Olympiad competition. Nine high schools and ten middle schools sent teams to the regional event, the largest number of teams ever at Vol State. The top two high school teams and top three middle school teams will move on to the statewide Science Olympiad, which will be held at UT-Knoxville on April 6. The advancing teams are:

HIGH SCHOOL

First: Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at Pearl High School, Nashville

Second: Ravenwood H.S., Brentwood

MIDDLE SCHOOL

First: Friendship Christian School, Lebanon

Second: Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at Pearl High School, Nashville

Third: St. Bernard Academy, Nashville
