Estate planning seminar coming up at Vol State

Volunteer State Community College is offering a seminar on March 23 to give people basic information about a range of estate planning issues.

David Bate Parsons is presenting the program for the Volunteer State College Foundation. He's a partner in the Nashville law firm of Baker, Campbell and Parsons. He's also the past president of the Nashville Estate Planning Council and practices extensively in areas of estates, wills and trusts.

The two-hour seminar will provide an introduction to estate planning. There will also be information about trusts, tax considerations and IRAs.

The program has been submitted for approval by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education for Attorneys (2 hours C.L.E), by the Tennessee Department of Insurance and Commerce (2 hours C.E.) and by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (2 hours C.E.).

Advance reservations are required by March 17 for the March 23 seminar. It will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $30. The seminar will be held in the Rochelle Center at the Thigpen Library on the Volunteer State campus at 1480 Nashville Pike in Gallatin. For reservations and more information call 615-230-3506.
