Volunteer State Community College has an event that can help people who are ready to take college courses or those just considering the idea. Hispanic Family Night will have information about everything from English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to college level courses and degree programs. Admissions, Financial Aid and Advising help will be available.
“Hispanic Family Night is a fun and informal way for people to get questions answered and to talk to Vol State staff one-on-one,” said Eric Melcher, Communications Coordinator at Vol State. “We call it Family Night because it can help many people in the family. Adults may be interested in English classes or returning to school, and teenagers are getting ready to leave high school for college. We’ll have counselors who can speak to people in Spanish and English to better answer any questions they might have.”
Refreshments will be served. There will also be movies and fun to keep children entertained. Everyone is invited to attend. The Hispanic Family Night will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and people can stop by whenever it’s convenient. It will be held on Tuesday, February 5 at the Wood Campus Center on the Vol State campus at 1480 Nashville Pike in Gallatin. It is free and open to everyone. For more information call 615-230-3570 or in Spanish 615-230-4846.
