Critical Care Paramedic Course
Critical Care Paramedic Course to be Offered
TriStar Centennial Heart and Vascular has partnered with Volunteer State Community College to offer a Critical Care Paramedic course.
In addition to approximately 100 hours of classroom instruction, each student will be required to spend approximately 36 hours in clinical rotations, in various units within TriStar Centennial Heart and Vascular Center.
Twelve students will be selected to participate in the class. In order to be considered, a candidate must be a currently licensed paramedic by the State of Tennessee, have two years’ experience as a paramedic, and have their BLS, ACLS, advanced pediatric course (PALS, PEPP, or EPC) and advanced trauma course certifications (PHTLS or ITLS). Applicants will be screened with an entrance exam and an interview process.

The cost of the course is $1000. The fee covers the course, books, scrubs, and uniform shirt. Fees not covered: background check, liability insurance, 2-step TB skin test in the last year, MMR, Varicella, Hep. B, Rubella, tetanus (titers or labwork), and health insurance.
