Testing Center

The Testing Center, a part of the Division of Student Services, is located in the Wood Campus Center and houses a facility that can provide testing for up to thirty (30) examinees.

The following information is for the Gallatin campus only.

If you need to schedule a COMPASS or Diagnostic exam, please call 615-230-3484.

If you need to schedule an RODP proctored exam:

  3. Create an account or enter your login information
  4. Make an appointment
  5. You will be sent a reminder email 2 days prior to exam

If you need to schedule a VSCC online proctored exam:

If you need to schedule the ETSP Graduate Exit Exam:

If you need to schedule a GBA or Paralegal Exit exam, please call 615-230-3484. You must complete the review before scheduling. Contact the Business Division at 615-230-3301 for review information.

If you have missed an exam in your classroom, and need to schedule a makeup exam, please call 615-230-3484. Your instructor will need to contact the Testing Center to make arrangements to deliver the exam.

To schedule a GED exam, please call 615-230-3626.

To schedule a CCE (Computer Competency Exam), a CLEP exam, or an A2 HESI exam, please call 615-230-3484.

When are we available?

Examinees need to call (615) 230-3484 to schedule an appointment. RODP, online, and exit exam scheduling is done online by the links to the left. The normal Testing Center hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Students must schedule and arrive allowing enough time prior to published closing in order to complete their exam. Testing Center hours around holidays may change or be extended during busy registration, mid-term, and final exam periods. Examinees should call (615) 230 - 3484 and check the hours when scheduling tests to avoid any conflicts.

What is Required of Students Utilizing the Center?

  1. The student needs to call the Testing Center at (615) 230 - 3484 (or schedule online if applicable) and make an appointment to secure a testing date and time. The Center administers many different tests, and some are available only on certain dates and times.
  2. The student will need to submit the appropriate test fee, if applicable, to the Testing Center Office and bring the receipt to the Testing Center.
  3. The student must bring photo identification for entry into the Center along with any authorized materials and aids allowed for the particular test being taken.
  4. Examinees are also asked to be aware of the Center closing time and allow plenty of time to complete the exam.
  5. Food, drink, cell phones, and/or other electronic devices are not allowed in the Center.
  6. No children or other adults may accompany the examinee into the Testing Center. The Center cannot be responsible for children or adults who require care and supervision while examinee is testing.
  7. Examinees need to make sure they are given the correct exam in order to receive credit for the work they perform.
  8. The Center’s policy on Test Security and Academic Dishonesty is posted outside the Center for all to view.

What services are available to Students with Disabilities?

The Testing Center strongly urges students with physical, psychological, learning or other disabilities to contact the Office of Disability Services at (615) 230 - 3472 prior to any testing or registering for classes. Students with documented disabilities may be entitled to a range of additional services while enrolling in and attending Volunteer State Community College.

What about Test Security?

The Testing Center has in place security measures such as log in/log out monitoring of all tests and safe storage of testing materials in a testing vault located close to the administrative offices. This vault is secured by a password-protected entry system.

Test Security and Academic Dishonesty Policy

The Testing Center strives to provide test security by carefully tracking tests and scrap paper. In addition, the Testing Center supports and adheres to standards for academic honesty set forth in the student code. Incidents of academic dishonesty in the Testing Center are treated seriously. Students found to be cheating will lose Testing Center privileges for all classes for the remainder of the semester. If we observe a student using unauthorized aids, the Testing Center Staff will:
