Five area students have been awarded Presidential Academic Service Scholarships at Volunteer State Community College. All students who applied for private scholarships at Vol State were screened. Those chosen had a 26 or better on the ACT, a 3.50 high school GPA and met the March deadline. From this group the top five were selected. The scholarship provides $4,000 for the year. The students will work 75 hours with Vol State campus offices each semester.
The recipients are (left to right): Caleb Bullock of Gallatin; Rebecca Cooksey of Thompson’s Station; Carley Koehn of Mt. Juliet; and Bethany Powell of Lebanon. They are shown with Vol State President Dr. Jerry Faulkner. Not shown: Lucas Stewart of Hendersonville.
