Volunteer State Community College has received a grant from the Tennessee Board of Regents to help the college better recruit and retain a diverse workforce. The Access and Diversity grant was awarded this spring and will be implemented this summer. The pilot program will help to develop long-term plans for human resources.
“The funding will assist the Office of Human Resources in its efforts to develop a recruiting model which enables Vol State to attract and retain a workforce that reflects the diverse population the institution serves and embrace the qualities, experiences and work styles that make individuals unique,” said Lori Cutrell, Director of Human Resources and Affirmative Action Officer.
The Recruiting and Retaining a Diverse Workforce program will focus on new employee orientation and may include a mentoring program and diversity education. For more information about Human Resources at Vol State please visit www.volstate.edu/humanresources
