New career skills don’t just happen, you need to seek them out. Volunteer State Community College Continuing Education can help. Whether it’s finding an entirely new career path or fine-tuning your knowledge, non-credit classes are designed to assist workers and employers.
A new set of classes in the Leadership Compass Program will teach skills such as Building Trust, High-Payoff Hiring, Customer Service and the Awesome Powers of Persuasion. Each class meets one time, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. That allows participants to take several courses or businesses can send different employees to different classes.
Fiber Optic Technician training gives students the hands-on skills they need for the high-tech field. The new Certified Fiber Optic Technician Outside Plant class prepares students for the certification exam. It will be held in one weekend starting February 9. Vol State offers several Fiber Optics courses each semester.
Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma. TOSHA and a wide variety of computer training courses are part of the dozens of in-person and online courses offered throughout the spring semester. For a complete list visit www.volstate.edu/ContinuingEd or call 615-230-3358.
