Tonya Lewis Lee Speaks January 25

She’s known as the producer of innovative children’s television programming, an author and a spokesperson for infant mortality awareness. People may also know her as the wife of film director Spike Lee. Tonya Lewis Lee will be sharing her experiences at Volunteer State Community College this month, as part of Unity Day at the school.
Lewis Lee has produced and written TV shows for Nickelodeon, TV Land and HBO. With her husband, she wrote three children’s books, including the popular “Please Baby Please.” She has appeared on national and local radio and television shows across the country, commenting on issues of women and race. She will have two speaking appearances at Vol State on Wednesday, January 25. The first will be at noon and the second at 7 p.m. The public is invited to both sessions and there will be a book signing in the evening. Both appearances will be held in the auditorium in Caudill Hall on the Vol State campus at 1480 Nashville Pike in Gallatin. For more information call 615-230-3461.
