College Baseball and Softball Tournaments come to Vol State May 3-5

Hundreds of baseball and softball players, coaches and fans will descend on Volunteer State Community College for the Tennessee Junior College Athletic Association (TJCAA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region VII tournaments. The action takes place May 3 through 5 at the Vol State campus in Gallatin.
This year, the top four teams in baseball and softball from the division will be playing in the tournament. The winner of the softball championship will go to the national tournament in St. George, Utah. The winner of the baseball tournament will play in a four-team district tournament against Region 17 (Georgia), vying for a trip to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The TJCAA/NJCAA Region VII Tournament games are open to the public. Play starts on Friday, May 3 and will continue on Saturday and Sunday. The baseball field is located off of Gap Blvd., on the east side of the Vol State campus. The softball field is located near Nashville Pike, on the west end of campus. Game times and teams will be posted just prior to the tournaments on the Vol State Website at www.volstate.edu. Admission is $5 for the general public. Volunteer State Community College is located at 1480 Nashville Pike in Gallatin.
