Carnival games, rides, science demonstrations and even magic will be part of the fun during a Spring Carnival at the Highland Crest college campus in Springfield. The event is organized by the Volunteer State Community College Student Government Association and it's open to the public. Magician Jason Michaels is expected to amaze the crowd with tricks, while Mr. Bond the Science Guy will do the same with science activities. The Magic shows happen at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and there is a noon science show, with an activity booth running all day. There will be popcorn, snow cones and even Vol State bags for the first 250 people. It is all free. Vol State is putting on the carnival so that students and their families can enjoy the end of the semester. It's also a way for the public to see the Highland Crest campus and have some fun. The Spring Carnival will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The campus is located just off of Highway 431 on Billy Batson Parkway.
