Kimberley Locke Scholarship Awarded to Gallatin Graduate

Brittany Smith of Gallatin is the first recipient of the Kimberley Locke Scholarship at Volunteer State Community College. Locke is a performer, TV personality and fashion model who first came to fame on the 2003 season of "American Idol". The Gallatin High School alumnus performed at Vol State earlier this year and a portion of the proceeds are being used to fund the $350 scholarship.
Smith was a 2011 graduate of Gallatin High School where she was a member of the Performers, the Tennessee Mid-State and All-State Chorus and was featured in a leading role in the production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie". She is majoring in music education with an emphasis in vocal performance at Vol State.
