Writers can get the help they need to become authors with a new seminar from Volunteer State Community College Continuing Education called "Get Your Book Published". This one-day workshop, taught by author Peter Davidson, describes the three possible ways to get a book published --through traditional publishing, vanity publishing, or self-publishing. Potential advantages and disadvantages of each publishing method are explored. Because of the difficulties of finding a traditional publisher, the high costs of vanity publishing, and the rising popularity of self-publishing, this seminar emphasizes the self-publishing process. The seminar can help anyone writing fiction, non-fiction, personal experience, family history, children's picture book, poetry, religious works, educational materials, or other works. It will be held on Wednesday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Vol State campus at 1480 Nashville Pike in Gallatin. The registration deadline is July 13. Call 615-230-3358 for more information.
