Human Services Program

Human Services is an exciting and gratifying area of study.  This area of emphasis provides academic preparation for entry-level human service workers.  Students are trained to help individuals, families, groups, and communities that seek assistance with a wide range of problems, issues and concerns that confront them in daily living.

Human service workers are employed in a variety of public/private community and social services agencies and organizations.  Some examples include:  crisis hotlines, the court system, recreational facilities, correctional facilities, health organizations, hospice, prevention programs, residential settings, household management, day care, consumer services, housing, education, institutional services, government and many more occupations.  The demand for trained personnel who can fill the demands of jobs in human services continues to increase.

Many students choose to continue their education.  They transfer to higher education institutions to obtain advanced degrees in social work, counseling, law, pastoral care, community development and other academic areas of study.
