Personal Identification Number (PIN)

If you don’t already have a PIN, apply for one now at www.pin.ed.gov. If you are a dependent student, your parents should also apply for a PIN. With your PINs, you and your parents can electronically sign your online FAFSA, making the application process simpler and faster.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

To apply for federal and state financial aid, you must complete a FAFSA each academic year. You can access the FAFSA application on the web at www.fafsa.gov.

When completing the FAFSA, it is highly recommended that you import the IRS information into your FAFSA application from the IRS Data Retrieval tool.

Effective Fall of 2012, the Financial Aid Office will no longer be able to accept tax returns (Forms 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) when completing the verification process for students. If the student did not use the IRS Data Retrieval tool to populate the income tax portion of the FAFSA, they are now required to request a tax transcript directly from the IRS. You should receive the transcript within 15 or more days after you request it. If you are required to order the IRS transcript, click here and select from column 3 Order a Transcript.

The Financial Aid Office will notify you if you need to complete any of these forms. These forms are NOT required for every financial aid applicant. Do not complete these forms unless they are requested by the Financial Aid Office.
