Welcome Module
Welcome to the first step in achieving your educational goals. The faculty, administration and staff are pleased to have you become part of Volunteer State Community College. We hope that you are excited about the number of possibilities that can all begin with an education from Vol State.
There are many different ways that a Vol State student can be part of the college:
- from a student that is on the main campus in Gallatin each day of the week,
- to the student that takes all of his or her classes online
- to the student attending classes at the Livingston Campus
- or a student who attends one of our many other sites.
we hope to bring a quality educational experience to each student as an individual. Please feel free to call the various offices that you will learn about during your Directions sessions for any help that you may need. We know you are a vital part of our community, and that you are looking for a college to serve you well. Help us make Vol State an important part of your life in return. Volunteer State: Your Community, Your College.
President’s Welcome
On behalf of our faculty, staff, and the college administration, I’d like to welcome you to Volunteer State Community College. By choosing to attend Volunteer State, you’ve joined a diverse and growing population of individuals who have decided to make their lives and their communities better. You’ve also chosen to attend a college that is fiercely committed to excellence, as proven by the honors bestowed on your fellow classmates.
Teaching, guiding and helping you succeed involves more than education. Your environment must also be comfortable and accommodating. I hope you enjoy your learning environment no matter which of our campuses or sites you choose to attend. We are constantly working to improve them all to better meet your needs. And for those of you who manage to find time for distance learning classes while juggling work, home, and family responsibilities, I applaud your determination. While you may not spend time with us in physical classrooms, your academic contributions to Vol State make all of our experiences here that much richer.
You’ve made a courageous decision to pursue a college education because you felt a need to learn more, do more, and be more. Our goal at Volunteer State is for you to feel new and improved after spending some time with us in this academic community. I wish you the very best during your time here.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jerry Faulkner
