Campus Police Staff
The administrative office responsible for security on the VSCC Campus is the VSCC Department of Campus Police. This department reports to the office of the Vice President of Business and Finance. The office of the Vice President of Business and Finance has overall responsibility for this service related function.
The personnel of the VSCC Department of Campus Police are divided into the following groups:

Off-Campus Sites and Centers
All VSCC campus sites and centers are under the jurisdiction of their local and county law enforcement agencies, which are under the jurisdiction of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

All full-time Campus Police Officers meet the standards of the Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission and they have received 320 hours of formal training at a Tennessee Police Academy. Upon successful completion of police academy training, officers are placed on an one-year probationary period. Each new officer is assigned to a senior level field-training supervisor and periodic progress reviews are completed. Enforcement powers are obtained from the State of Tennessee as each campus security officer receives his or her commission in accordance with the provisions set forth by TCA 0-7-118.
