Job DescriptionAbout the opportunity
The Financial Services Representative I role is primarily responsible for processing and performing a variety of general accounting functions. This entry-level position will support the accounting team and assist with accounts receivable collections and cash applications, accounts payable, and general accounting.
Prepare and upload journal entries, payable vouchers, check requests, worksheets, etc.
Process credit cards and apply receipts to customer accounts
Review customer accounts and perform collections duties as needed
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with customer invoicing and statement preparation
Update/ run/ analyze various excel spreadsheets and reports
Assist with month-end close procedures
Assist with general accounting duties as requested
Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers
Remain flexible, and present a positive disposition in the face of changing needs and customer demands
Interact daily with supervisors and peers to achieve goals and exceed customer expectations; actively participate as a member of a team by adhering to teams expectations and guidelines, fulfilling team responsibilities and demonstrating personal commitment to quality and to the team
Demonstrate a commitment to safety, integrity, process improvement and customer satisfaction
The above represents general responsibilities for the position. Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.
High school education required
Accounting courses preferred; Associate or Undergraduate degree a plus
Prior experience in general accounting or sales and use tax preferred but not required
Experience using Excel, Mainframe, AX, CCH, or other applicable accounting and financial software a plus
Excellent organization skills; maintain historical data and a well-organized work area
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Exhibit meticulous attention to detail; committed to producing accurate and high-quality work
Conscientious and methodical approach to work and task completion
Ability to speak clearly and effectively in a variety of settings
A team player with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
No travel required.
