Financial Service Representative

Job DescriptionAbout the opportunity
The Financial Services Representative I role is primarily responsible for processing and performing a variety of general accounting functions. This entry-level position will support the accounting team and assist with accounts receivable collections and cash applications, accounts payable, and general accounting.

Responsibilities
• Prepare and upload journal entries, payable vouchers, check requests, worksheets, etc.
• Process credit cards and apply receipts to customer accounts
• Review customer accounts and perform collections duties as needed
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist with customer invoicing and statement preparation
• Update/ run/ analyze various excel spreadsheets and reports
• Assist with month-end close procedures
• Assist with general accounting duties as requested
• Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers
• Remain flexible, and present a positive disposition in the face of changing needs and customer demands
• Interact daily with supervisors and peers to achieve goals and exceed customer expectations; actively participate as a member of a team by adhering to team’s expectations and guidelines, fulfilling team responsibilities and demonstrating personal commitment to quality and to the team
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety, integrity, process improvement and customer satisfaction
• The above represents general responsibilities for the position. Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.

Job RequirementsQualifications
• High school education required
• Accounting courses preferred; Associate or Undergraduate degree a plus
• Prior experience in general accounting or sales and use tax preferred but not required
• Experience using Excel, Mainframe, AX, CCH, or other applicable accounting and financial software a plus
• Excellent organization skills; maintain historical data and a well-organized work area
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail; committed to producing accurate and high-quality work
• Conscientious and methodical approach to work and task completion
• Ability to speak clearly and effectively in a variety of settings
• A team player with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• No travel required.
