Job Description:
Legal Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes • Drafts documents such as contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation/organization, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, deeds, wills, and a wide variety of trust instruments (including advanced trusts such as charitable trusts, various types of grantor trusts, and asset protection trusts) for review, approval, and use by VP, General Counsel • Investigates facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly • Composes, prepares responses and types routine correspondence on behalf of VP, General Counsel • Organizes and maintains virtual file system • Coordinates VP’s schedule, makes appointments and arranges travel reservations • Prepares meeting agendas and transcribes meeting minutes • Assisting the VP and the document content team in planning and executing content goals and objectives for WealthDocx® legal documents, document assembly templates, and ancillary support tools • Completing editing and drafting tasks as determined by the VP • Assisting the VP in working with member editorial groups in drafting new documents and new or revised language to current documents including: • Finalizing language for new or revised documents • Finalizing ancillary support resources for new documents or language (including, for example, “help screens”) • Submitting language to, and working with, the software development team in successfully programming the new documents or revised language into the WealthDocx® assembly system or other electronic means • Assisting the VP and education team by reviewing all WealthCounsel document-oriented continuing education materials and planning and coordinating educational programming at the local/state and national level • Participate as a member of periodic content committee meetings • As needed, substituting as part of the legal support team. Qualifications/Experience: • Minimum 7 - 9 years of recent experience as a paralegal/legal assistant working in a law firm performing the duties of an Estate Planning Paralegal or Legal Assistant • Paralegal or Legal Assistant Certification preferred • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills • Advanced skills using Microsoft Word are required • Ability to use HotDocs document assembly platform preferred

Job Requirements:
This is a VIRTUAL position however the VP lives in Nashville (this is who you'll be working under) and would like to have weekly or monthly meetings face to face.
